This darker blend is a beautifully crafted Medium-Dark coffee that showcases an exquisite combination of beans sourced from Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Brazil. This blend produces a rich and aromatic cup, highlighted by a captivating hazelnut aroma that invites you in. The flavour journey begins with a gentle hint of floral fruitiness, creating a delicate introduction. This evolves into a bold and unique middle that captures the essence of each origin, ultimately culminating in a strong, rich chocolate aftertaste that lingers on the palate. It is a well-rounded coffee that appeals to both casual drinkers and seasoned connoisseurs.

A few months after the successful launch of Speak Easy, we began to receive feedback from customers who felt that the blend was not “strong” enough, particularly in terms of darkness. Understanding the desire for a bolder option, we set out to create a coffee that was equally delicious but with a deeper, darker profile.

In our pursuit, we adjusted the proportions of the beans and extended the roasting process, allowing the Flavors to develop more fully. The result was Dark & Grumpy, a fitting tribute to our founder, Louis, who earned the nickname “Grumpy” in the cycling community. This blend embodies a robust character, making it a favourite among cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts.

Its bold flavour profile not only satisfies those craving a stronger cup of coffee but also maintains a rich complexity that keeps coffee lovers coming back for more.
